a feathery wonderment

So even though we're all ready to embrace the Spring and Summer with makeup looks of soft, vivacious tones and warm bronzes on our faces, these beautifully orchestrated Fall/ Winter Chanel looks just hit the runways.  I felt the need to share, as I'm simply just crushing.  I love how the crease of the eye has this almost feathery feel to it, like it could just fly away... This look evokes true romanticism with a heart of edge!  And although this was intended to be editorial for show, there's no reason it can't translate to an everyday or more so, evening look...a twist to the traditional smokey eye.  With its slightly imperfect strokes of mascara in the crease or use of a brush with a liquid liner, it makes for an easy attempt by any novice at makeup, leaving room for mistakes. (There's no perfection needed here ladies! )   And this can be coordinated with a deep color of sorts on the lid, a metallic blue perhaps like MAC's eyeshadow Deep Truth or a great ornate gold, MAC's mineralize duo eyeshadow in Mayhem, all to be left to your preference.

To finish off the look, I would use one of my favorite mineral, liquid foundations, Christian Dior's Nude, for flawlessly glowing skin, neutral cheeks and soft pink lips (MAC's Viva Glam V Lipstick).

La Primavera

After having rough months of cold, miserable weather, I think us Atlantans were stoked to have a couple of days of bright warm sunshine and subtle breeze.  Yes folks, this is it...Spring has arrived and it's most definitely here to stay!

My friend Que and I started off the much awaited season with a trip to the Atlanta Zoo.  Judah and Nevaeh having the chance to run around and take in all the fresh air were ecstatic!

In between some moments of hectic outbreaks and calm delights, they were gracious enough to allow my picture taking.  Such little posers, are they not?... they photograph so well!

... and sweet Kingsley found the experience to be new and intriguing.  My blue eyed boy loved every second of it!

Floral with a little London...

Not sure if you've noticed all the beautiful floral motifs going around this season, but it's been a refreshing change and peak of what's here for spring.

I've especially enjoyed the collaborations that Liberty of London has done with various companies. MAC Cosmetics, for example, designed a line inspired by their beautiful vintage patterns called Give Me Liberty of London. You should definitely check it out with it's beautiful plums, blues, pinks, & corals...and they even made a scarf available in an exclusive pattern! Find these all at your nearest MAC counter, although the bags and scarf are only available at the MAC store or online. And as an added bonus, MAC online is doing free shipping on all orders thru March 21st.

I heart the makeup bags, which i had to purchase before they sold out!

Then there's Liberty of London for Target that includes everything from fashion, housewares, to actual bicycles! And if you just can't decide on which lovely pattern is your favorite, visit Target's Patternality Test on Facebook, to see which suits you... It matched me with the Garla design, "fashionable and full of class." Love that!

I think, though, this Sixty pattern is oh, so darling... embracing the sixties, of course, full of free spirits and soft pastel flowers.

Makeup of hearts...

This is my means to share and inspire all those out there involved in my life. I often don't have time to connect individually with every one of you! But I have this great desire to share all the things I've acquired these past years...my life as a Pastor's wife, the raising of two animated little boys, makeup skills and tips, and my love for all that's in between. So I hope you'll enjoy this snapshot into my life and have the chance to be part of something new! Thanks for reading!
